4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
My primary target audience is teenage girls who are roughly around the ages of 11-16 years of age because the females are typically the ones who enjoy pop music and songs about relationships and love and usually tend to be able to relate to them. My magazine does not target those of a particular race or ethnicity though. The target audiences interests would be that of the celebrities, pop music, boys and relationships.
When creating my magazine, I was sure to include fun girly colours such as lilac, yellow and teal. These instantly represent the bright side to the music genre 'pop'. These colours also help to attract the audience over any other magazine that they would be looking at on the shelves in store or on the internet.
My images used throughout is a young teenage artist which other teenage girls can relate to instantly. The clothing worn by her also helps the audience recognise who this magazine reaches out to. It was important that the correct clothing was worn and the correct makeup was applied to link with the pop theme. I know this was not a fashion or makeup magazine but it was important that what was worn, was the up to date fashion to this day.
