My final front cover

• Firstly, for my front cover of my magazine, I used a teenage girl model because this was the target audience and using this model suggested to the audience exactly what style of magazine this was. The colour scheme was then based around this, taking into consideration the types of colours young teenagers are into in this day in age. The ones I chose were lilac, teal and yellow. I used these as they all went well together and were very eye catching too. I then kept this colour scheme consistent throughout which gave the magazine a professional feel about it.
• I took time to view as many different style models as I could. My favourite was the 'we love pop' style magazine. I used and incorporated different pieces from this magazine into my magazine, for example, the 'we love pop' magazines head line was changed and I turned this into 'we love music' but added my own twist to this by adding font and colours. Secondly, I also took the highlighter from the magazine and added it to mine. Highlighting key words make the audience look right to it. These are usually the important parts of the magazine.
• The price and barcode both correspond and link with the colour scheme. These are located on the bottom right of my magazine. Many typical magazines use this convention so I decided to give it that look to.
• My title also includes effects such as a drop shadow and the colour I used behind this lilac was a yellow, again, keeping with the colour scheme in order to make it stand out and engage the reader or buyer when it is on the shelf in a store.

This is my final double page spread. I have researched questions that an interviewer would tend to ask a female celebrity when in an interview. This gave me an idea of the type of questions I would include in my magazine although I answered them off the top of my head without the internet.

I kept to the theme and same colour scheme as throughout. I even included highlighted parts in my interview as this is a regular theme throughout the 'i love pop' and 'top of the pops' magazines as it highlights the most important or most interesting parts within the magazine itself.

7. What do you feel you have learnt in the progression from the preliminary task to the full product?

During the time from when I first created my  prelim magazine cover to my main magazine cover, I have picked up many editing skills along the way. I have studied a variety of magazines that had a large input into helping me create my main magazine cover to this day. I studied magazines such as ‘we love pop’ as pop was my genre of magazine and this helped with the colour scheme and the actual lay out of the page.

In my first magazine cover, I was using very basic text fonts and sizes. The magazine did not really have a colour scheme as I just chose the colours off the top of my head without looking at any magazine. On the other hand, my magazine now has a colour scheme, which I followed. This being red, blue and yellow. The pop magazines that influenced me, all used bright colours and I chose to follow this.

Next thing I learnt was how to use shapes and drag the layers behind each other that enabled me to have a border around multiple images on my main magazine photo. I also learnt how to edit a picture correctly using photo shop that made the picture instantly become more professional. All in all, I have used many more advanced magazine conventions for my main cover and this applies for my other two pages, the contents page and the double page spread. 

 

Similar to my front cover, I have picked up many editing skills involving the use of photo shop compared to my very first pre-lim contents page. Again this had very basic text fonts  and nothing stood out where as to now, I have borders around my images, text is bolder in some parts and some text is even highlighted to be more appealing to the audience. The main contents page is nice and packed with writing, images or information where as before there was a lot of blank space and looked very boring.
